Advisory Summary

## 🛡️🔔 FortiManager/Cloud FGFM Authentication Weakening (CWE-288)

◆ Overview (What happened?)
FortiManager and FortiManager Cloud contain an authentication bypass issue (CWE-288) that could allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to impersonate any FortiGate managed by the FortiManager. The attack relies on a specific CLI option set through crafted FGFM requests, provided the attacker has a valid certificate.

## 🧯 Immediate Actions (What to do now?)

1. Apply the PSIRT fix / upgrade for FortiManager and FortiManager Cloud as directed in the advisory.
2. Audit certificate exposure: verify which certificates are issued/used for FGFM interactions and ensure no unauthorized certificates exist.
3. Harden FGFM access paths: restrict network paths to FortiManager/Cloud management interfaces (allowlists, VPN/private access, no public exposure where possible).
4. Monitor for suspicious FGFM/CLI-related request patterns indicating crafted FGFM payloads or abnormal CLI option usage.
